The following comments are hypotheses only. The red cross, known as the cross of St. George, appears in the arms of the Anglican Church of Canada (previously known as the Church of England in Canada), and the pallium is possibly taken from the arms of the Diocese of Canterbury in England, the original diocese of the Anglican Communion. The garbs of wheat possibly symbolize Saskatchewan, and the willow branch, the Saskatoon bush. |
