Symbolism

L'insigne reprend, dans une forme héraldique, les symboles déjà utilisés par le Centre. La division centrale représente les montagnes Chic-Choc de la région de Gaspé qui sont situées à proximité. Le visage du chat rappelle la municipalité de Cap-Chat, baptisée ainsi par les premiers colons à cause d'un rocher ayant la forme d'un chat. Les vagues représentent le fleuve Saint-Laurent, particulièrement magnifique au coucher du soleil. Le vert a été choisi pour rappeler la nature environnante, et le rouge est la couleur traditionnelle de l'armée.
