Symbolism

The palisade within the diamond shape represents a fort and, by extension, Fort-Coulonge, which was originally a fur trading post. The fir trees and the green allude to the municipality’s geographic location, surrounded by forests, as well as its historic and economic foundation. The wavy lines symbolize the waterways bordering the municipality that led to its development.
