H.M.C.S. Carleton was named after the British schooner H.M.S. Carleton (1776), named in honour of Sir Guy Carleton, who is credited with having saved the colony for the British by defeating Montgomery and Arnold at Quebec on December 31st, 1775. The wavy bands symbolize the sea. |
