Royal Assent Ceremony

June 29, 2021

The Administrator of the Government of Canada granted Royal Assent by written declaration for the following legislation:

  • An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (bereavement leave) (Bill C-220)
     
  • An Act to establish a federal framework to reduce recidivism (Bill C-228)
     
  • An Act to establish a national framework for diabetes (Bill C-237)
     
  • An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sports betting) (Bill C-218)
     
  • An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (transfer of small business or family farm or fishing corporation) (Bill C-208)
     
  • An Act respecting transparency and accountability in Canada's efforts to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050 (Bill C-12)
     
  • An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 19, 2021 and other measures (Bill C-30)


The small ceremony took place at Rideau Hall while respecting social distancing norms.
