OTTAWA—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will participate in a virtual commemorative ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands and Victory in Europe (VE) Day, on Friday, May 8, 2020, at 12:45 p.m.
The ceremony will pay tribute to the sacrifices and brave efforts of Canadians who fought to defend the values that we hold dear: peace, democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
