Message from the Governor General of Canada
on the Occasion of Victoria Day
OTTAWA— As governor general, I have the distinct honour of serving Canadians as The Queen’s representative in Canada.
In 2017, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her 91st birthday and the Sapphire Jubilee of her accession to the Throne, becoming the first reigning British monarch to reach this remarkable milestone. We are privileged to have a monarch who, throughout her reign, has lived a life of such abundant selflessness and unwavering commitment to serving others.
On this Victoria Day, I would like to convey my sincere appreciation and profound gratitude to our Sovereign for her tireless dedication to all Canadians.
