Welcome, everyone, to the Citadelle!

As part of our annual Fall Celebration, we invite you to celebrate with us the last day of the Journées de la culture—celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

You’re in for a treat!

We will be highlighting great music—the theme of this year’s event—with a fantastic program.

And what a great day to enjoy Québec in the fall, while at the same time discovering this historic site.

With that in mind, let me share some interesting facts with you.

Did you know…

• That this has been an official residence for governors general since 1872?
• That the Royal 22e Régiment is based here and so is the museum that tells their story?
• And lastly, did you know that we celebrate outstanding Canadians here every year, thanking them through the presentation of honours?

And I haven’t even told you about everything else that is waiting for you today: lively music, Canadian art and delicious food, waiting to be discovered.

This is all part of your heritage, which is why we ensure that the Citadelle is open and accessible to visitors throughout the year, not just today.

I hope that you will enjoy the performances taking place today—whether it’s artists, musicians or acrobats.

Make sure you take the time to savour seasonal treats prepared by our chefs, to visit the Officer’s Mess for a guided tour, and to see visual artists at work located inside the regiment’s museum.

There are so many ways to celebrate Quebec’s culture, heritage and creativity here and we’re so excited to share all this with you!
