Message from the Governor General Congratulating
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the
Announcement of a Future Addition to the Royal Family 

LIMA, PERU—It was with great joy that Sharon and I learned of the future new addition to the Royal Family. On behalf of all Canadians, we would like to congratulate Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on this wonderful occasion. 

We were honoured to attend their wedding more than a year ago and soon after to welcome Their Royal Highnesses to Canada. Their love and devotion to each other—not to mention their warmth towards the people they met—were evident. Canadians reciprocated and in great numbers, demonstrating our respect for the Crown in Canada, and how much they mean to Canadians. With this happy news, we have once again a chance to show our admiration. 

To Her Majesty The Queen, and to the rest of the members of the Royal Family, we wish continued delights, celebrations and good health throughout the New Year.
