Josephine Wright, Toronto, Ontario (posthumous)
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For more than 75 years, Josephine Wright provided leadership and guidance to many generations of children. Since the age of 15, she contributed to the Scouting organization, particularly with the 333rd Toronto Scouts, where she recently served as a Scout leader and Cub master and gave talks to children about the organization's history and traditions. She was also a dedicated member of her church, performing many vital services as a lay member of the Anglican Synod and the Chancel Guild, in addition to running a weekly seniors' club. An exemplary role model to youth, she inspired many others with her energy and Scouting spirit.
