Lauren Whiteway is a Big Sister who has spoken in front of the entire school to share her struggle with selective mutism, a form of anxiety. She also takes every opportunity to mentor children who also exhibit signs of this condition. Through her personal blog, she is able to help other people like herself connect with the wider community by raising awareness of the condition and helping those who, due to anxiety, are unable to communicate verbally.
