As a student at Memorial University, Sophie Harrington became a volunteer with the non-profit international organization Enactus, which promotes entrepreneurial action to improve the standard of living of those in need. With Enactus, she managed a team of
73 volunteers and participated in 23 projects. She has also served as a volunteer board member for the Mile Zero Ultimate sport club, where she helped to double its membership and assisted in developing a number of initiatives to make ultimate Frisbee safer and more accessible.
