Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Bill Westgate has selflessly provided years of care, support, expertise and advice to people in need. He assists with veterans' applications for pension benefits, allowances and grants, and assists them with their income tax returns. He organizes day outings for seniors, and helps those who are sick or disabled to obtain seniors housing and proper medical or home care. Through his hours of service club work, he has helped raise funds for children with disabilities. In addition, he volunteers with the Fort Calgary Preservation Society.
