Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Madeleine Trotier-Otis was the initiator of the Baie-Saint-Paul Pro Santé Community Centre, which assists senior citizens and persons in need. She also founded the 50-plus Action Group, which keeps seniors up-to-date on culture, health, rights and other areas of interest. She has served on the boards of a hospital and a hospital centre, and of the regional health and social service commission. Mrs. Trotier-Otis has also been involved in the Women's Association for Education and Social Action, founded the seniors' theatre festival and was a founding member of Charlevoix community television.
