Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Corry Wink started her volunteer career as a teacher for Canadian University Services Overseas and remained involved in international development though the YMCA's Cooperation for Development Committee. She canvassed for various charities, was involved in Canadian Parents for French, school board committees and a non-profit housing organization. She also served on the boards of the John Howard Society, the New Canadians Centre and the Peterborough Social Planning Council. In addition, Mrs. Wink has created literacy programs for people who are disabled, unemployed, in correctional institutions, and living in rural and Aboriginal communities.
