Although she was involved in a range of volunteer activities at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Peggy Anderson will best be remembered as the operator of Newark Neighbours, which she helped found more than two decades ago. Based on her firm belief in the importance of self-help, this organization relies solely on the donations and volunteer efforts of the community to provide food, shelter, clothing and even jobs for people in need in the region. Mrs. Anderson's legacy is an inspiring one of neighbour helping neighbour.
