Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

In addition to his work as a teacher, Lanny Anderson has volunteered in the community, with sports groups and in the church. He is the founder, organizer, and promoter of the Whitehorse City Basketball League and the Yukon Territorial Basketball League, which successfully integrate students with special needs. He is also an active member of the Pentecostal Church and the Learning Disabilities Association. Mr. Anderson spends countless hours in the community, notably helping children with disabilities with many aspects of their lives.
