Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Over the past decade, Basil Alexander has devoted hundreds of hours a year to helping others as a volunteer driver with Meals on Wheels and the local Action Volunteer Centre. He has been active in his church and has also visited people who are ill, lent his truck for worthy causes and helped people in financial need. A square dance caller, he has even volunteered to organize and teach square dancing lessons in his community.
