Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
As a long-serving member and fund-raiser of the Optimist Club, Keivin Wallace helped establish the Octagon Group, which offers training in public speaking and choir activities for people with disabilities. A certified child seat inspector with Edmonton's Always Buckle Children (ABC) program, he spends many hours at clinics providing car seats and assisting parents with installation and proper use of the seats. For over 45 years, Mr. Wallace has also been a Scout and Cub master for the Boy Scouts. He regularly provides transportation for the visually impaired members of the Brailtones Choir and frequently reads to the blind. For several decades, Mr. Wallace has trained and motivated youth, assisted the disabled and contributed to the safety of his community.
