Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For more than 20 years, Lynne Stacey has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to community service through her extensive work with youth and seniors. She is the co-founder of the Navan Curling Club, and has also created and instructed many aquatic fitness programs specifically for seniors and cancer patients. She has worked extensively with children as a Scout and Girl Guide leader, and has provided lodging to teenagers for the past 11 years as part of the Rotary Club's Adventures in Citizenship program. An accomplished musician, she has organized and directed various community choirs, performing at seniors' homes, music festivals and fundraisers across the National Capital Region.
