John Coupland has demonstrated caring for his community through leadership in various initiatives concerned largely with emergency preparedness and critical incident stress management. He has also helped rejuvenate the Thunder Bay division of the RCMP Veterans' Association. In addition, his volunteer work with the `Thunder in the Air' program has introduced Thunder Bay audiences to Canadian aviation, including thrilling aerial performances.
