Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

A trained nurse, Ella Younger is a devoted volunteer in her community. She has been an active member of the Anglican Church Women's Association for 36 years and also worked voluntarily with the Al-Anon organization for more than 34 years. At one time the lone canvasser in her community for the Red Cross, Mrs. Younger saw her local branch grow over her 28-year involvement. As camp nurse for the Anglican Church Camp, she took care of the children's cuts and bruises for 22 years. She continues to sing in her church choir and to volunteer for the local hospital auxiliary, participating in fundraising activities for much-needed hospital equipment.
