Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Donald Williams was a well-liked and respected member of his community. He taught Sunday school, and served his church as warden, lay reader, treasurer and secretary. For years, he ensured that the cemetery was maintained and provided the upkeep for the municipal campsites. He has voluntarily been the plumber, electrician, furnace repairman, floor layer and carpenter for almost every citizen in his community. As member of the Legion, Mr. Williams maintained and operated the community hall, setting up equipment for various charitable organizations and, every year, organized the Remembrance Day ceremony.
