Major Mustafa Al-Haddad, C.D.

Since 2011, Mustafa Al-Haddad has been helping Syrian refugee families adapt to life in Canada by giving presentations in his community about Syrian culture and the background of the Syrian conflict. He has provided informal interpretation services to assist families in their day-to-day activities. In 2009, he also created the Barrie Muslim Youth Club and the Barrie Arabic School—the first institutions of their kind in the community.
