Phoebe Dunbar
(Sooke, British Columbia)

Phoebe Dunbar is a household name in the community of Sooke. She was a founding director of the Sooke Co-operative Association of Service Agencies (CASA), a collective of eight member organization providing comprehensive services to children and families. As the founder of the Sooke Region Food CHI Society, she created a splendid garden, gazebo and community compost centre, and has educated residents on food security and local ingredients. More recently, she has been working on a co-operative model for local farmers, in partnership with the T'Sou-ke First Nation.
