Gilles Tremblay has shaped the evolution of contemporary music. A pianist by training, he is one of our leading composers and has created an internationally renowned body of work, blending modernity with tradition. He has produced compositions in a wide range of styles, from orchestra and chamber ensemble to electroacoustic music, which have earned him commissions the world over. A skilled educator and talented administrator, he has had a significant impact on the development of music in Quebec, as a teacher at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec and as former president of the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec.
