Robert Hare is an important contributor to the field of forensic psychology. His pioneering research led to the development of the PCL-R, a diagnostic tool widely used in basic research and in the criminal justice system to assess offenders for psychopathy, treatment options and risk of recidivism. He is sought after for his expertise by national and international law enforcement agencies, including the RCMP, Her Majesty's Prison Service and the FBI. As an author, he has played an important role in educating the public and shedding light on a field that is often sensationalized and little understood.
