Dyane Adam has helped to strengthen Canada’s social fabric. A psychologist by profession and principal of Glendon College at York University, she was responsible for maintaining the institution’s bilingual mission. She then became the first woman and Franco-Ontarian to serve as commissioner of official languages, protecting and promoting linguistic duality across Canada. She also channelled her passion into advancing the status of women as founding president of the Collectif des femmes francophones du Nord-Est ontarien pour l’avancement de l’éducation.
