Denise Verreault has distinguished herself by her efforts to promote the economic and social development of her region. At just 24 years of age, she succeeded her father and became president of Groupe Maritime Verreault inc., a company specialized in the construction, conversion and repair of ships. Under her leadership, the company achieved impressive growth and international renown. In addition, a number of organizations, including la Corporation de soutien au développement technologique des PME, and Industry Canada's Shipbuilding and Industrial Marine Advisory Committee, benefit from her expertise. This proud Gaspesian and advocate for the role of regions also encourages women to enter non-traditional fields of work and is a role model for the young generation.
