She is a passionate, respected advocate. In her long-running Toronto Sun column, she addressed countless issues confronting those with disabilities. She has been an active volunteer since the 1960s, serving in such leadership roles as President of the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy. As a member of a municipal advisory committee, she successfully lobbied for a public transit system for people with disabilities. Having triumphed over tremendous physical challenges posed by her own cerebral palsy, she is a role model of courage and persistence and an inspiration to others.
