She has improved the quality of life for Canadians living with disorders such as Parkinson's disease and Dystonia. A registered nurse and committed volunteer, she was instrumental in establishing a national network of nurses trained to provide specialized care for these patients. In addition, she co-authored several patient handbooks now used worldwide. The first Movement Disorders Nurse Coordinator in Canada, she was also the catalyst in the expansion of the Parkinson Foundation of Canada to include national patient and family support services.
