A renowned engineer, he has also earned a reputation as an excellent manager, planner and negotiator. He is one of the leading figures in the James Bay and northern Quebec hydroelectric projects. He distinguished himself in particular through the major role he played during the negotiations in which his concern for the environment and his respect for Aboriginal culture and traditions were a deciding influence.
