A dedicated volunteer, he has contributed to many worthy causes in Vancouver. He has raised funds for numerous healthcare organizations, including the J.R. Nicholson Foundation for Cancer Research for Children. An active promoter of Chinese culture, he has been involved with ventures such as the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, which is the first full-scale classical scholar's garden to be built outside of China. A supporter of projects for youth, he also organizes fundraising events to help students pursue their studies and encourages them to become involved in charitable activities.
