      As a communicator, writer and shaman, she has long worked to raise general awareness of the condition of Aboriginals and to promote the Huron Wendat culture. A mother of seven children who wanted to set an example of the importance of making a positive contribution to society, she completed her education, having left after only six years of schooling, and went on to obtain a Ph.D. in Philosophy. She has spoken at numerous symposia and conferences throughout the world and is also the founder of the first French-language Aboriginal magazine in North America, a socio-cultural centre and a spiritual centre.
