She has played an important role in the development of modern dance in Canada. Following an early career with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, she founded Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers, one of the country's first modern dance companies. Through her association with the company for some twenty years, she earned the respect of her peers and helped to nurture many careers both on the stage and behind the scenes. She continues to work as an independent choreographer, serving as an inspiration for future generations of dancers.
