He is known as a "bridge-builder" who has been able to forge new links between the anglophone and francophone communities of New Brunswick through cooperative sports initiatives and recreational ventures. In his role as the first Director of the Department of Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Moncton, he built the athletics program during a period of limited resources. Throughout his professional career, he has sought to develop the "whole person" within his students by teaching them important life skills such as confidence, integrity and determination.
