One of the pioneers of Canadian aviation history, she was the first woman to own and operate a flying club and an airport. She was also the first woman control tower operator, and the first woman bush pilot and helicopter instructor. In the years since she began her career ferrying airplanes across the Atlantic during the Second World War, she has instructed more than five thousand pilots.
