There are thousands of Canadians who would not be able to look upon the faces of loved ones, see the colour of the sunset or watch the snow fall, if not for her pioneering efforts in organ donation. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the first national eye bank in North America in 1955 and for almost forty years coordinated donors, recipients and surgeons throughout Ontario, and created public awareness of the value of tissue donation.
