In turn professor and dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Montreal, special adviser to the Prime Minister of Canada on constitutional issues, judge of the Quebec Court of Appeal and of the Supreme Court of Canada, he has made a significant contribution to the field of law. In addition to having strongly influenced the shape of Canadian federalism, he has left his mark on administrative, public and civil law.
