At Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Hospital, a year after sustaining spinal injury in the Normandy Campaign, he set about organizing a special unit for paraplegics. This led to his founding of the Quebec division of the Canadian Paraplegic Association which affords medical help, housing, transportation and recreation, and of Unlimited Skills Inc., which provides training and work.
