In addition to his distinguished career as a journalist and news executive, he has vigorously supported many minor and major athletic endeavours and numerous community activities in British Columbia. He is now serving his twelfth term as President of the Pacific National Exhibition, which, under his leadership, has become one of North America's largest and most successful annual agricultural fairs.
