A Sydney, Nova Scotia businessman, he has been active in a wide variety of projects, causes and community service groups. His work within such organizations as the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, Sydney Board of Trade and particularly as the founder of Atlantic Canada Plus, a self-help plan which has aroused a new awareness for job creation through support for regional goods and services, earned him the first Atlantic Canadian of the Year Award.
