Her considerable influence and numerous achievements make Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire one of the great leaders of the Montreal community. The first woman to graduate from the École Polytechnique's civil engineering program and the first woman to be appointed as a Quebec delegate abroad, she is known first and foremost as the "dynamo" of Centraide du Grand Montréal. President and CEO for over ten years, she has employed her abundant energy and talent for bringing people together by restructuring Centraide and turning it into a model philanthropic organization. One of her projects was 1,2,3, Go, aimed at helping children from underprivileged neighbourhoods. A long-time volunteer, she demonstrates that community involvement and mutual support are values she holds close to her heart.
