He is renowned both for his contribution to the economic and tourism development of Montréal and for his unfailing support for many social and cultural causes. Under his guidance, the Old Port of Montréal became one of the most visited recreational tourist sites in Canada. In particular, he established the iSci Centre, an interactive complex dedicated to promoting science and technology. Many organizations benefit from his management skills and humanitarian values, including Accueil Bonneau, the National Theatre School and the Canadian Centre for Architecture.
