She is highly respected for her vision and commitment as an educator. For over 25 years, she has worked in partnership with aboriginal communities in northern British Columbia to develop a curriculum designed to respect and reflect the cultural heritage of her students. Her tireless efforts have resulted in several unique educational opportunities, such as Chilcotin and Shuswap language training, an on-reserve seven-year baccalaureate program and the Cariboo-Chilcotin Weekend University. By making learning accessible in the community, she has offered new generations of aboriginal students the promise of a better future.
