Professor emeritus at McGill University, Margaret Becklake has made outstanding contributions to fighting lung disease through research and education for more than 60 years. A renowned expert in respiratory medicine and epidemiology, she has studied the occupational and environmental causes of lung diseases. Her many prestigious awards are indicative of the esteem in which she is held by her peers. She continues to advance our knowledge of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is a role model for aspiring young researchers and women in medicine.
