An eminent playwright, George Walker has greatly enriched Canada’s cultural landscape. Over the last 25 years, he has written more than 20 plays, many of which have won him critical acclaim at home and abroad, including Escape from Happiness and Heaven. He has also authored several screenplays for Canadian television series, including The Newsroom and Due South. He is the creator, co-writer and co-producer of the former CBC television series This is Wonderland, a contemporary take on Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland. He serves as an inspiration to young writers and artists across the country.
