A former city councillor and mayor of Vancouver, Philip Owen has served his community with dedication and determination. Among his most important legacies is the Four Pillar Approach. This daring and comprehensive community-oriented initiative is aimed at preventing drug addiction, minimizing its dangers and providing assistance to those seeking rehabilitation. Thanks to this and other community renewal projects, he has helped bring about a significant improvement to the quality of life of Vancouver's residents. Since retiring from municipal politics, he has lent his time and talents to a variety of charitable organizations, notably as director of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.
