Unstinting in his support of, and advocacy for, the arts and culture in Canada, he has given strong and generous leadership to many organizations and individuals. His knowledge and energy have shaped many of this country's leading cultural institutions, particularly the National Arts Centre and the Ontario Arts Council. In memory of his brothers, he has recently established two foundations supporting literary and visual arts. This is a promotion within the Order.
