In addition to raising pure-bred Aberdeen Angus cattle on a ranch near Red Deer, Alberta, she has been involved for thirty-five years in community service on the local, provincial, and interprovincial levels. She has held numerous posts on educational bodies and is a charter member of the Vanier Institute of the Family.
